Introduction of RFID tags in Wal-Mart stores

Aiming to get its main suppliers use RFID tags to track their goods by the end of the year, Wal-Mart started last week to receive radio-tagged shipments from eight manufacturers at a distribution center in Texas.
To face the critics about the privacy issues that the use of these tags involve, the giant store promised that readers would not be installed in the retail areas of the stores. Furthermore, the stores will inform consumers that they are free to dispose of the tags once they leave the supermarket.
