Mood lamps

One might marvel at Matmos Air Swith Lamp, but in 2001 Michael Anastassiades was designing something more devious.

Anastassiades’s Social Light needs to be talked to to maintain its glow, as though flattered to get your attention.

However, his Anti-Social light is more of a reading lamp. It will glow only when there is complete silence: it won’t stand any conversation. Noise will cause the light sourse to dim down and eventually switch off.
