The fabulous Danish art group N55 (the guys of Small Truck) designed three years ago the Snail Shell System, a compact mobile place to stay, move around and live on land as well as water.
The tank can be moved with the power of one person, either by pushing it or walking inside it or, on water, by using a paddle, a kite or by attaching it to a larger vessel.
The tank holds a paddle, a hand pump, 11 mm nylon rope, a lid of 50 cm in diameter, a Bunsen burner, frying pan, pot, handle, a 10 l foldable water container, sponge, a roll of plastic bags, a torch and a 20 mm hose.
Next time someone asks you what is the one item you would take on a desert island, you’ll know what to answer.
