Three game designers receive French honour

On the 13th of March, the French Minister for Culture and Communication Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres admitted three game developers to the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres: Mario, Nintendogs and Zelda’s daddy: Shigeru Miyamoto (whom RDdV called “the Spielberg of video games”), but also two important contributors of what the Minister names “the French touch”: Michel Ancel (Rayman, King Kong, etc.) and Frédérick Raynal (Alone in the dark, Little Big Adventure, etc.) Recognising contributions to French arts and culture, the Order is part of the French chivalry system.
