Mobile phones while flying

British aviation authorities has decided to allow wireless communication devices on planes since some handset makers are including an option that turns off the wireless connection and indicates FLIGHT MODE on the display.

So passengers would be permitted to write or read messages and perform all other nonphone functions on their smartphones.

Two other facts might be reminded: flight authorities admit that mobile phone radiation present only a modest threat. And an increasing number of airlines should offer wireless Internet and mobile phone access on board within two to four years.
