Kick Ass Kung Fu is an immersive game installation that merges virtual and real worlds to let players control a Kung-Fu game with their movements.
The player steps on a 5 meter cushioned playfield and through custom computer vision technology, s/he is taken inside a virtual reality where the normal laws of physics no longer apply. Movements are exaggerated so that s/he can easily dodge the opponent’s kicks and punches by jumping five meters in the air and landing behind their back. Using the dual projected screens, one at each end of the playfield, the hero can also counter-attack the enemy from behind.
The game was developed by Animaatiokone Industries, in Finland.
