Sajjadah 1426 (Sajjadah means “prayer rug” in persian/turkish and 1426 stands for 2005 in Islamic calendar), by Soner Ozenc, helps Muslims pray 5 times a day. Indication of the direction towards Mecca is achieved via the data coming from a compass module embedded inside the prayer mat. The closer to the direction of the Mecca the rug is turned, the brighter the Electro Luminescent panel.

The work is exhibited in the Lethaby Gallery, London between 16-25 June.
