11 Spanish villages to run wireless

On June 16, will be launched for the first time in Europe, a Wi-Fi network connecting 11 villages in the region of Cordoba (South of Spain).
100.000 people and 300 organizations from eleven municipalities will enjoy their own wireless broadband telecommunication network, sharing a series of services ranging from electronic administration to telecontrol and allowing them to phone and videophone each other through the network, for free and without any of the esthetical, urban, environmental or patrimonial damaging impacts associated with optical fibre or wires.
