The American ‘Wi-Fi Guy’ starts this month in Amarillo, Texas, his wireless trip. The road warrior, armed with a range of wireless devices, from Palm PDA, Blackberry, GSM to Wi-Fi enabled laptop, will try to prove that one can traverse the wild frontier of the American West without ever losing digital contact with the rest of the world.
He’ll be driving a bright orange truck provided by his sponsor, CI Host, a Web hosting provider. CI Host interest in sending the Wi-Fi Guy on the road is to discover what people’s needs in terms of Wi-Fi really are or how they use their computer.
