TV company Comcast is to offer VoIP

The American cable TV company Comcast will offer telephony services via Internet.

The system will rely on the cable network (now used to transmit broadband Internet and television) that the company already owns and will work through VoIP technology. Comcast hopes to provide the service to its 40 milions subscribers before the end of 2006.
