Sartorial excesses

I’ve seen works by “established” artists at the Venice Biennale. The pieces were good of course but i was expecting to see more of those “young and promising artists.”

As i’m not an art specialist I nevertheless discovered some awesome artists. Like Leigh Bowery (1961-1994), a performer, musician, fashion designer and star of the London underground scene in the 80’s and 90’s. In search of the “never seen before” look, he designed costumes that deformed and stretched different parts of his body, turning himself into a living objet d’art.

The Arsenale showed his costumes and pictures shooted by Fergus Greer.
