The frustrated reporter with a 3G phone

3G reached last month the Spanish market, more than two years after the service was announced.

Operators recognise that a lot of criticism might arise due to the “big size of terminals, the deficient coverage, and poor battery life of the new mobiles” and the difficulty to use tele-conferencing services when inside a building.

Indeed, yesterday, during the mid-afternoon newscast on Telecinco, a national television channel, a journalist was unable to see the news presenter via his video-phone even though he was just one metre away from an antenna.
