The use of mobile phone is now so widespread that people resort to it even inside their home. In an attempt to reverse the tendency, Spanish mobile phone operator Telefónica will launch this week the first landline phone equipped with mobile technology.
Famitel Agenda, developped by Thomson, is a wireless phone featuring services that were so far only available on mobile devices like the exchange of SMS. And since the phone accept the SIM card of mobile handset, it can also download the agenda.
The device looks like a standard mobile phone, it boosts a colour display, polyphonic melodies, games and can be navigated like any mobile handset…
Telefonica hopes to sell some 100.000 Famitel Agenda in one year on the Spanish market.
Besides, Thomson intends to adapt all these mobile services on the “Domo” wired phones too.
