Over the summer, 8 artists from Denmark and abroad have made temporary works and plantations in outer Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The artists have been dealing with issues of inclusion and exclusion, the use of public space, the origin and history of plant life and the relation between the city and its surrounding.
Among the projects that can be seen are is an Oxygen Greenhouse installed in a traffic hot spot. It is a stationary version of Harmut Stockter‘s Plant Backpack, a portable greenhouse rucksack attached to a breathing mask. It is designed for the urban day-tripper yearning for fresh air.
If you’re in Copenhagen, Hot Summer of urban farming is on from September 2 to 26.
