Dark Places, guest curated by Joshua Decter, is a group exhibition that brings together a diversity of artistic visions to reconsider how we navigate urban, suburban, and other kinds of territories on bodily, perceptual, political, psychological, and ideological levels.
The show boasts an experimental approach to the organization and installation of the exhibition. Designed by servo (in collaboration with Casey Reas), it features a ceiling-mounted, spider-like, plastic armature equipped with four front projectors, four rear-view projectors, specially designed screens, and a network of fiber optics that delivers luminous images into the darkened museum space. Visitors, through remote sensing and touchable surfaces re-configure the content being displayed.
