Forest Grove is a beautifully shot Web narrative based on John Cheever’s short story The Swimmer. Charlie, a boy living outside a gate community -named Forest Grove Estates, longs for the “security” inside the enclosed unit. Throughout the movie, he slips through the fence to swim in every Forrest Grove pool.
Working on a tiny budget, shooting with actors in a real gated community wasn’t an option, so film director Maya Churi hired architect Riley Triggs to create the wooden model of a gated community that serves as the set for the piece. The actors are clay characters.
You can choose on a map on the film website which house in the community Charlie swims to next, and then watch the sequence unfold.
Forest Grove runs about 40 minutes.
