For his Play project, Icelandic designer Hrafnkell Birgisson used discarded players such as radios, record players, tape recorders and cd players and reanimated them with custom-recorded tracks from various artists.

The former look of the chassis is kept but the designer also gave it a more anthropomorphic appearance inspired by the musician’s look. A serial device is individualised and personified.
