Conrad Bakker‘s Untitled Projects: Sidewalk Economies (San Francisco), is a series of digital photographs of fake objects like rubber bands and pen caps. The artist deposits handcrafted wooden replicas of discarded articles on city sidewalks, snaps a photograph, and then leaves his creations behind to drift.
The photographs call attention to minute details of urban space and encourage us to imagine an unsuspecting city dweller’s encounter with a wooden rubber band.
The exhibit runs till March 12 at Southern Exposure Gallery in San Francisco.
