The MIT Teacher Education Program organized in February 2004 an indoor Augmented Reality simulation at Boston Science Museum.
Teams made of children and parents had to apprehend a virtual group of criminals (The Flamingo Gang) using their deductive skills.
Using location provided by the Wi-Fi network and armed with handheld devices, players in Mystery @ The Museum received clues based on their location, interviewed cyber-suspects, and could interact with each other and virtual objects via Infrared data exchange.
