Tens of millions of pictures were taken and sent via emails by mobile phones in the United States in 2003, the year camera-equipped phones were introduced to the broad public.
Now these pictures will find a space in a Los Angeles art gallery. The exhibition called SENT will explore the camera phone’s potential as a artistic tool in two galleries:
– an online one where amateur photographers and phonecam users will share their pictures with the whole world,
– at SixSpace, in an exhibition where professional photographers, artists, and public figures will work on the creative possibilities offered by camera phones.
