Having to replace a rope bridge destroyed by a rock fall over the Traversinertobel, in Switzerland, engineer Jürg Conzett and his associate Rolf Bachofner could only find two points where there would be no risk of rock falls. But one was too high and the other too low.

Their solution is a suspended straicase-bridge that spans a distance of 56 metres.

Four wooden tails run along the bridge make the construction stiffer but they also act as a blinder to prevent a direct view down into the 70-metre-deep gorge and thus enhance the sense of security for hikers.
