Mirage

Another great photographer of urban space i discovered while visiting Spectacular City in Rotterdam (just realised how much promotion i’m doing for their exhibition. Note to self: ask to get a free entrance next time!)

Frank van der Salm breaks down the city into fragments or graphic compositions, playing at destabilizing our perception of the architectural surfaces and urban landscape.

In Mirage, the facade of a building in Hong Kong is reduced to a purely graphic representation, but as viewers step back, they can discern the reflection of other buildings on the surface.

Equally impressive: Display, Park, and Terrace.

Previously: The Ministry of Transportation and Hikikomori.
