Nursing homes and hospitals across the USA have tested the “robot doctors” as a possible solution to respond to the growing number of seniors in need of healthcare support. InTouch Health, pioneer in Remote Presence in Healthcare, designs robots featuring flat video screens for head and video cameras for eyes and ears. With a joystick, a flesh and bone doctor can manipulate the robot to check on patients and interact with them, via the real-time video hookup. Most of the patient who tested the technology were quite satisfied by the results.
