Genware::algorithmic library

Genware::algorithmic library, an ongoing research by Biothing, is an artificial life-based design software that can convert dynamic sound patterns into structural fields to produce complex surfaces at various scales.

Genware investigates “the dynamic relationships between sound patterns and dynamic structural fields. The idea of incorporated rythmicities of sound allows for faster discovery of harmonious patterns. They are co-dependent and are both understood materially as polymorphic cellular membranes: discrete in nature and scripted through genetic algorithms.”

Biothing, headed by architect Alisa Andrasek, is one of the winners of Metropolismag‘s 2005 Next Generation Prize. The winning projects will be featured at Metropolis’s booth during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, to be held May 14-17 in New York.
