Security guards can watch only eight monitors at once – and after about 20 minutes, everything starts to blur. So Atlanta startup VistaScape is selling colour PCs for a total 3-D view.

The software system detects threats in real-time combining the views from dozens of cameras with GPS and sensor data to build one giant, clickable map.

Anything that moves, from boats to people, gets an icon. Guards can click on it for a live image from the nearest cam.
They can set up rules for each area under surveillance. If someone crosses a fence they’re not supposed to, the rent-a-cops get paged.

Sensors (video, chemical, radar, and access control), compares activity to security policy rules set throughout the environment, and display the information on the map, supplying details humans can’t otherwise see.
