The story on the fluorescent chicken (see post below) reminded me France Cadet ‘s DogLab project.
Her five robot dogs have been hacked and transformed into transgenic and chimerical animals, all of them based on real cloning experiments.
One of the dogs was inspired by the fluorescent mouse and “Alba“, the GPF rabbit of Eduardo Kac. The GFP puppy has a phosphorescent coat. This peculiarly has been obtained by transferring, into the genome of the animal, the coding gene of the “Green Fluorescent Protein”, present in jellyfish, and used to mark the cells.
