Venice Frontiers is a MIT mobile technology project to make Venice the first wireless content-rich city in the world.
Its original dimension is twofold:
– use of the latest networking, positioning, streaming and multimedia facilities of mobile phones and PDA’s
– collaboration with citizens, media creators, governments, and tourists. In an attempt to share the wealth and avoid the wear and tear on their fragile city, Venice officials and merchants hope that the exploitation of handhelds could persuade tourists to visit other parts of the city.
