The Universidad Polit�cnica de Madrid (UPM) has developed the prototype of a robot that will work in the field to collect strawberries.

The robot is assisted in its work by two digital cameras that provide the exact location of the strawberry. The whole system enables the robot to analyze colours, measure the size of the fruit and determine the best moment for picking up the strawberry, take it with a clamp, cut it and even to put a bar code containing the fruit identification and all the data of the collection.
