Studio Massaud is working on the Guadalajara football stadium (Mexico) which should be ready by the end of 2006.
The roof of the football stadium is fabric stretched over a frame and protects spectators from rain and sun rays. The rest of the stadium disappear into a hollowed-out hill—or a volcano. The duo also plans to hide the parking inside the volcano. This way, when there is no match, the outside of the stadium becomes a big grassy park where families can picnic and players can train.
Advertising will be projected on the roof, rather than on panels underneath the stands, so the team lounge, the gym, and offices will get a view of the field, through glass.
