The first day of Wired NEXTFest was hectic and lots of fun – people everywhere and long lines at the most popular projects.
The Virtual Cancoe simulation with haptic interactions was cool and I can only recommend it to those in need of improving there paddling skills.
The project originates from the Technology Institute of Tokyo and they have wired the paddles and loaded them with sensors to create the sensation of actually being present on the virtual river. The haptic feedback was great and gave a very natural feeling of being on water.

The projects goals are to invent a real-time fluid model for virtual reality, visualization/haptizations methods for the fluid model, and to understand the fluid-phenomena simulations in engineering.
