Creative Youth Xchange is a competition launched in May to let youth show their creativity and ideas across arts, media and design.
This year the theme is “Future Asia 2029.”

Among the 50 shortlisted entries, there is the Coke Recycle-ator by Birger Linke.

According to Linke, recycling still requires some effort in Singapore.

He imagined a system where Coca-Cola cans are airbrushed on the riser section of the escalator. As the escalator goes up to the next platform the riser begins to retract, giving the illusion that the Coke cans are being crushed flat. At the top of the escalator a simple call to action ‘Protect the Environment Recycle Cans’.
