Podcast. Episode 5, Paolo Pedercini about social justice, satire and video games

Paolo Pedercini is the guest of the fifth episode of the podcast series I did with artists who 1. are among my absolute cultural heroes and 2. have exhibited at Aksioma Institute for Contemporary Art in Ljubljana.

Molleindustria, The Best Amendment

Paolo Pedercini is a game developer, an artist and an Associate Professor in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Art in Pittsburgh — where he is also running LIKELIKE, a space for independent games and playful arts. He is the mind behind Molleindustria, a radical video gaming project. Commenting on his games, Pedercini wrote that he “unintentionally convinced many people that his games are art” and indeed, Molleindustria games address issues such as environmental justice, religion, the military, gun violence, mass incarceration, pedo priests, immigration and even the anthropocene.
