French smokers will get personalized SMS to help them quit their addiction to fags.

During the testing phase of the programme, 1.200 volunteers will receive, during 12 weeks, SMS tailored to their age, sex and degree of dependence to the tobacco. Several hundreds of messages were defined by the experts of the CPAM (Caisse primaire d’assurance maladie, a French Health Insurance Organization), tabacologists and phone operator Orange marketing specialists.

The experiment will be held in the Saone-et-Loire region and if it proves successful, it will be extended to a larger public.
