British designer Gina Reimann has created three amusing pieces that explore our interaction with superstitions.
Her “Compass Bed” responds to the belief that to avoid nightmares, you should sleep on the north-south axis, with the feet to the south. And one should always get out of bed from the right side, the left one, being the “devil’s side”. Compass Bed incorporates a compass and an audible proximity sensor begging you to align your bed to respect the superstition. A zip on the right side ensures that you get up on the “right” side of the bed.
Her project features also a salt-saucer for spill-proof meals and an umbrella to open only indoors.
