Thanks to the 4,500 kilometers of optical fiber, Milan is going to launch a network of mini-antennas for mobile phones.
Instead of the 10-meters high antennas, mini-antennas of 10-15 centimeters will be placed on top of lampposts and traffic signals, just like it is planned in New York.
After tests were succesfully carried out in the historical center and around the Meazza stadium, the city has decided that from September onwards, some thirty mini-antennas will be installed in the areas where signals are still too weak.
