The TUE blob has been built according to the so-called ‘Blowing-structure’ method.
Jurgen Bey, in collaboration with students from the Technical University in Eindhoven, investigated whether it was possible to use recently developed computer technology to create a “liquid architecture” that allows for an infinite quantity combinations of hollow and convex forms to be made. Since February 18, 2005, this Binairy Large Object or blob is used as a presentation space and as platform for experimental projects that focus on the interface of art and technology.
Commissioned by SKOR and Technical University Eindhoven.
