More about Pioneer 3D floating interfaces…
Haruka is a 3D floating vision receptionist who lives inside a 210x180x210mm box (8.4×7.2×8.4 inches).
No glasses are necessary to see the 3D character which also has sensors that detects if a person is coming close or tries to touch the 3D projection, so the image can talk to you when you come by her desk (cute desk with a plant pot and a telephone!) and say things such as: “I am Haruka. May I help you?”
Demoed by Pioneer Precision Machinery at the CEATEC 2005 exhibition in Makuhari, east of Tokyo.
