The Ball State Museum of Art is running a pretty appealing exhibition called Engaging Technology: A History and Future of Intermedia. I’ve had my share of Intermedia (“intermedia”? That’s a new one to me), interactive art, new media art exhibition and festivals, thank you but this one features works that show how technology-based art emerged in the 1960s and how it will progress into the future. I’ve been dreaming for a long time of an exhibition that would do just that: put the field in perspective instead of boosting only the very latest and coolest art works.

The artists selected include Richard Bloes, Adam Brown and Andrew Fagg, Gary Hill, Dick Higgins, Jenny Holzer, Golan Levin, Nam June Paik, and Alan Rath.

The exhibition is free and closes March 11.
