Ford Motor Co. is developing plans to increase the safety of its cars. Optical scannings, a variety of visual warnings projected on the windshield and an “active” system that automatically adjust the steering of the car if it is veered too far could alert drivers feeling asleep on the road.
Also on study are systems that use cameras to scan drivers’eyes or sense when they loose thier grip on the steering wheel beyond normal.
