Turning Gameboys into electrocardiographs

A professor of electronics from Strasbourg (France) found out how to turn old Gameboys into electrocardiographs that will permit to check up the patients’ heart rate in developping countries.

The device has been tested by patients in Madagascar who need to be submitted to constant heart rate monitoring in order to get efficient antimalarial medicine.

Only the cartridge of the game has been modified and the display shows the rythm of the patient’s heart.
