Toys going pop

For a few years now, Birmingham artist Modified Toy Orchestra a.k.a. Brian Duffy makes electronic music that derives from the modification of toys and releases disks under his own laber Warm Circuit. He modifies the circuitry of electronically powered toys to create instruments that make ‘new’ and unique sounds.

The fantastic thing about circuit bending is you don’t need to know anything about electronics. You just need a piece of wire stripped at either end and soldered, and after you’ve found connections inside the circuit, you can add switches and dials to control that surplus. You can design them so they sit on the body of the toy then you can play them.”
