Movie Mincer Cinema

Wish I could have made it to Aarhus (Denmark) for the @Runme Dorkbot citycamp 2004.

The Movie Mincer Cinema is a project by Russian media artist Sergey Teterin in which an old Soviet meat mincer is used as a laptop-connected device to manually control motion pictures.

According to the artist, the applications are:
– for making hand-made cinema: turning the mincer’s handle revives the first performances from the very dawn of cinema era. Each movie represents a set of JPEG pictures projected in series which corresponds literally to the “moving pictures” definition.
– for VJ shows as the MM could be used for video-parties.

But as Thomas, in the original post, wrote: “The current version doesn’t however actually support grinding meat at the same time.”
