Ketchup and ice cream with a conservative flavour

“Choose Heinz and you’re supporting Teresa Heinz and her liberal causes, such as Kerry for President.”

Teresa Heiz inherited the ketchup empire. So far so good. But she also married John Kerry, the oponent of George W. Bush, aka “W”, in the race for Presidency.

So after the “freedom fries” – for patriotic Americans who couldn’t stomach the French version because of their opposition to the war in Iraq, Americans have launched “W” ketchup to dip them in.

The W allegedly stands for Washington after the nation’s first president – but the manufacturers are supporting George W Bush’s re-election effort.

Partisans can also purchase “Star Spangled Ice Cream
created in response to Ben & Jerry’s brand. Ben Cohen, one of the creators of the ice cream, is a liberal advocate who endorsed Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) for president. The 13 flavors available include “I Hate the French Vanilla,”, “Iraqi Road”, “Rushmallow”, “Nutty Environmentalist” and “Smaller Governmint.”
