Companies fear wireless

Mobile operator O2 interviewed 600 IT managers and CIOs about their current mobile strategy: 63 per cent answered they have none. And half of these said they had no plans to introduce a mobile and wireless strategy at all.

Despite the fact that productivity, total cost of ownership and return on investment measures are getting more persuasive, companies are afraid of the perceived lack of security.

However most companies allow employees to bring their own wireless solutions and devices without looking into the overall security issues and with little control exercised over them by IT.
