Networked nightlight in a jar

Fireflies are three networked jars, each containing pairs of colored fireflies, which communicate wirelessly in a home or to nearby neighbors and allow family members to share goodnight’s with each other.

As a networked nightlight, the jars each associate with one of the three colors, either green, white or yellow. The jars can be placed in a house (upto 400 feet away from each other) and when a person taps on his/her jar the pulsing fireflies will be sent to the neighboring jars. Each jar will receive the pulsing from the other jars being tapped on.

John Schimmel´s jars are part of the ITP Spring Show on May 10-11, 721 Broadway, 4th Floor, NYc.
